Between the love of life and self

Spring 1998, Chania

The flesh surrenders itself, he thought. Eternity takes back its own. Our bodies stirred these waters briefly, danced with a certain intoxication between the love of life and self, dealt with a few strange ideas, then submitted to the instruments of time. What can we say of this? I occurred. I am not... yet I occurred.

~ Frank Herbert, "Dune Messiah"

Attention, please. This is from my very first film, shot with a borrowed, old and battered Zenit, whose light meter seemed to function whimsically on a case by case basis. I was 19, and didn't have the slightest idea what the fuck I was doing.

I find it amazing that a couple of pictures from that old film found their way here, in a blog I launched at 32. I also find it either very cute or very very depressing - I'm not sure which.

...Will you still love me when I'm 64?
